Review of Machine Gun Preacher (2011) by Peter P — 20 May 2014
Machine Gun Preacher is an interesting look at faith in action, even though ego might get in the way. The story of Sam Childers is not your average faith story, a ex-con who almost kills a man finds faith, and then is impacted by a visiting missionary, and moved to help the people of East Africa, in particularly the orphans.
This is probably one of Gerard Butler's best movies, his acting is on point, and the story, action and acting are all believable, and the direction is very solid. The story jumps around a bit too much, making it hard to gauge how much time has passed for portions of the film, but overall it works, and is definitely worth watching.
