Review of Machete Kills (2013) by Brian H — 21 Oct 2013
I really liked the original "Machete", but this sequel is simply a bad movie. It lacks the humor of the original and doesn't make a whole lot of sense at times. For instance, there is a timer that counts down throughout the movie.
At one point, it reads 4 hours are remaining, but then it's night time and something happens to Machete. He then wakes up in the desert in the daylight and CLEARLY at least 4 hours have passed, but the timer still hasn't expired! Some things are intended to spoof other movies, but I think I laughed twice throughout the entire movie.
.. I also dozed off briefly, but I think that actually resulted in me liking the movie MORE. Probably the worst thing about this movie is when it proclaims "Machete Kills Again. In Space" is coming soon.
Seriously???! Robert Rodriguez should have quit when he was ahead and not made this movie, let alone a third in the series. Oh, yeah.... "Carlos Estevez"??????
