Review of Machete (2010) by Chris B — 09 Jan 2012
Robert Rodriguez makes (another) homage to 'grindhouse' films with this incredibly silly action that makes no bones about it's intentions to be 'bad', make you laugh and pack more gunfights than Baghdad on a Saturday night.
Danny Trejo, a supporting actor in lots of Rodriguez and Tarantino movies, finally gets a lead role. OK, it requires him to do little more than spout deliberately naff dialogue in between looking hard and killing people but he does it a lot better than anyone did in 'The Expendables'.
At risk of sounding sexist, I think this film would be enjoyed by more by us guys than girls.
