Review of MacGruber (2010) by Patrick L — 16 Jul 2012
It's stupid that, here on flixster, I have to give a rating to be able to post a review but at least I can modify the rating later.
Based on the deleted scene and the gag reel, I felt it would be the stupidest film from Saturday Night Live alumni and guess what? I was 100% right and wish I hadn't wasted a single cent on this sexist, violent and piggish waste of time. I was only interested in the film, initially due to my understanding that it might be a spoof of MacGyver, then having mistaken the lead actor to be someone I knew and had enjoyed watching in other films (I've never seen the guy before actually, it was "mistaken identity") and finally because of the somewhat beautiful Kristen Wiig.
Piranha ( a stupid and sexist and hateful film) was "much" better than this gross and stupid film.
Kristen Wiig is the only redeeming feature of this film though she is not given much of a role.
It's a lousy, pornographic film and I finally decided to fast forward through the film to any good parts (of which there were few). Foul language, sexual acts, male nudity, outrageous violence and a lack of a good story or good characters make this one of the worst films ever made (given the bunch of dvd "gems" such as Reno 911 and others that are like sick, adolescent fantasies).
Perhaps the worst of this film is a scene of a senior posing for a nude portrait as well as the lead actor and another actor exposing themselves in ridiculous and offensive scenes that add nothing to the film at all. If a parody of tv show MacGyver, this film is a pathetic one. 0/10.
