Review of MacGruber (2010) by Sarah E — 15 Jul 2011

There's only a few references to Macgyver in this movie, but not enough that the title character's name, mullet, or abhorrence of firearms add up to a parody. Thankfully, MacGruber is a funny movie in its own right, mostly by accident.

In fact, almost always by accident, or at least seemingly so, which in turn, only makes the movie funnier. For every one joke that falls flatter than Kristen Wiig's hair doesn't, there's about five or six other one-liners, events, deaths, instances of property damage, and acts of violence that will have you in stitches.
