Review of MacGruber (2010) by Mrdrbot3000 — 30 Jan 2021
MacGruber is a great comedy based on the SNL character MacGruber. All of the actors and actresses are excellently cast. Once the movie begins, you are met with consistent and relevant humour that keep you engaged throughout the movie. MacGruber and Vicki seem to be stuck in the late 80s early 90s throughout the movie, adding a bit of a time traveling feel to how they interact with the modern movie setting. Just like the rewatchable comedies like Tropic Thunder, Step Brothers, Idiocracy... MacGruber is a movie I will watch a few times a year. I would consider this a parody movie but unlike a lot of parodies of this era, it never crossed into the cheesey overly silly area to get cheap laughs.
Come into the movie expecting a goofy parody on the classic rogue cop formula. This is an excellent comedy for adults that want to relive the 90s a bit while also laughing a lot.
