Review of Macbeth (2015) by Andrew L — 02 Oct 2015
Brilliant story, but sadly impossible to extract from the film. Dialogue is always harder to follow in 400-year linguistic leaps, and the moody mumbling doesn't help already strained comprehension.
Casting and direction also seem aimed at maximising confusion. Other than lots of Scottish people meeting a violent end, it wasn't really clear what was going on. If you want to watch bearded Scotsmen shedding each other's blood on a Friday night, just wander round London, and save your money.
