Review of Macbeth (2015) by Rodogonio — 16 Dec 2015
The production values are outstanding, from cinematography to acting, but the director's decision to keep the dialogue intact leads to an insufferable rhythm and a notorious disconnect between the realism of the production and the theatrical nature of the scenes, the situations and of course, the dialogues.
The pace is so slow and the tone so dark, you will come out absolutely tired. An interesting movie you will watch once and only once unless you are the most enthusiastic of Shakespeare's fans.
