This looks like a complete ripoff of ET and it is. The major difference here is that the alien's family also landed on Earth so it's like a family of ETs. Only these ETs look much cheaper and creepier.
Mac and Me is a noteworthy film for including Ronald McDonald's feature film debut. You get to see an alien in a teddy bear costume dance. In fact, you get to see every customer in a McDonalds restaurant break into a choreographed dance sequence. Do you get to see that in ET? I think not.
