Review of Mac and Me (1988) by Christopher S — 01 Feb 2011
After years of being freaked out by the VHS cover as a child, I've finally seen the movie. Yes, it's a God-awful cheap knock-off of 'E.T.' financed by product placements for McDonalds and Coca-Cola, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the hell out of it.
This is a movie so preposterous it needs to be seen to be believed, and it somehow manages to keep topping itself in utter ridiculousness. This one needs to be re-discovered as a cult hit. As bad as it is, it does have a great lively score by Alan Silvestri.
