Review of M. Butterfly (1993) by Laura F — 22 Feb 2008
This film defines great broadway on film. You see the portrayal of an Asian woman(man) subject to a man from the West which has been a social stigma, and even in present day. The story is very alluring; the backdrop takes place in the time Communist China uses its imminent forces to empower its people and use its sources to find out information that benefits the government.
Jeremy Irons and John Lone'Â?Â?s performances are above and beyond. Lone'Â?Â?s voice was eerily entrancing and enticing as a female. The dialogue is very well written as it is poetic.
