Review of M (1931) by Andrew D — 21 Feb 2009
Perfectly captures a mood of a town where no one trusts anyone. The scenes with townspeople tearing each other apart and being suspicious of everyone was so well done. The criminals' courtroom scene was absolutely brilliant.
Lorre's pleading speech really jerks at you. A dark film and a classic. Probably my favorite German film. Worth checking out even if you're not the biggest fan of subtitles. It's that good.
