Review of M (1931) by Joseph R — 02 Oct 2009
I'm not normally one to give credit to older works for every modern film covention, but I have to make an exception with M. M does what virtually every thriller ever made attempts to do, and it does it flawlessly.
seriously, the whistling that presages a murder is one of the best devices i've ever encountered in film. also peter lorre is one weird looking dooder, even for those times. ugh.
