Review of M (1931) by Kevork O — 24 Nov 2011
Fritz Lang's importance as a film-maker goes far beyond his best-known classic, 'Metropolis'. In 'M', he dissects the difficult questions of crime and punishment, determinism, agency and responsibility through the most controversial of subject-matters: child murder.
This film remains as gripping today as it was revolutionary in 1931.
