Tedious, time-wise... but Ang Lee manages to turn a slow-paced 2.5 hours into an amazing looking period film with a storyline that is in fact interesting - even if it doesn't necesarily play out like it.
.. bonus points for a realistic ending and for not backing down to China/Taiwan on censoring the film (at least for the U.S. release).
