Review of Lust, Caution (2007) by Wesley P — 06 Sep 2008
I was really surprised by this movie. Every scene is planned beautifully. The movie is sexually explicit, but we are all grown-ups. Even the title has so much intrigue. In Chinese, it could mean "Colored Ring," and it is as much central to the plot as lust and caution (which should have been translated to warning).
It requires some cultural understanding and curiosity to understand unpredictable human behavior in an unusally stressed circumstances. Ang Lee is many ways is a genius is expressing things that he doesn't know.
