Review of Lust, Caution (2007) by Wei Z — 18 Mar 2010
Wow. Before I write anything, let me get something off my chest - Wei Tang is not hot, nor beutiful, nor attractive - to me. Okay, now that's done with... Wow.
All the actors played superbly. Character development were great. The plot straight up, simple, without the confusing twists. Predictable, yet powerful.
I have never seen a modern film that can be a little sexually explicit, but not down-right dirty; classic-like shooting style; with great music; politics; betrayal; love; hatred; all blended into one great piece of art.
I am not a writer, so I cannot clearly express how I feel, there are many reviews that are well-written and I am sure you can get more off them. For me, when I talk about this movie, is probably a very simple message: You just have to watch it.
"He not only gets inside me, he worms his way into my heart like a snake. Deeper. All the way in. I take him in like a slave. I play my part faithfully so I, too, can get to his heart...''.
