Review of Lunacy (2005) by Y'ng Y — 18 Apr 2009
Surprisingly coherent despite the unrestrained imagination with stylistic touches particular to Svankmajer. Never a dull moment with the wild energy of the Marquis and the moral struggles of Berlot. Asylum feature is like Titticut Follies interpreted through the playful eyes of a surrealist.
Visceral yet constantly philosophizing on freedom, discipline, institutions, god and other abstract issues!
