Review of Luminaris (2011) by Byron B — 22 Apr 2013
I saw this Argentinian stop-motion short at the 2013 Cleveland International Film Fest. I wish it would have been longer, but I understand the great effort it takes to produce even a few seconds of stop-motion footage.
The exterior shots must have involved quite a bit of time lapse type set ups because of the story involving light. The novel use of household objects is quite clever too. The whole thing is so fun visually.
The story is about one factory worker, who makes light bulbs, trying to overcome the established bureaucracy to bring more light to more people. He also begins to fall in love with his co-worker.
