Review of Lumière & Company (1995) by Geraldine A — 05 May 2008
The documentary itself is no great production. What makes this film transcend is the fact that it unites some of the best filmmakers in the world to do what they do best and to express pure honesty about their craft.
Incredibly enough, with a camera that works after 100 years. If anything, this documentary addresses one of the most insensible questions about cinema- Is cinema mortal? Everyone has a different opinion.
But it gives me the shivers when I think about my response.
