Review of Lucy (2014) by Nicholas D — 07 Mar 2015
Yet another example of a critic and audience argument. If you are into action, but no explanation to how it works, then I believe this movie is for you, but for me I prefer movies to have science that is simple or at least explained in a way everyone can understand so the movie makes sense.
Even if the science is not factually correct please make it perfectly clear what it is and what it means for the main character. Lucy for me is exactly like interstellar. I am very confused by the fake science that many things that happen in the plot just fly over my head.
I gave both an extra star for the great effects, but even with the great Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman at the helm, it still could not be saved. During the whole plot it is very unclear what it is she is trying to accomplish, and when we reach the end it is unclear what she has become.
Has she reached salvation or is she trapped in time? I would not recommend you to watch for it's confusing plot., but would if you don't care about the science or plot behind it.
