Review.
THE AVERAGE PERSON USES 10% OF THEIR BRAIN CAPACITY. IMAGINE WHAT SHE COULD DO WITH 100%.
I thought that this would be more enjoyable then it was, but unfortunately I was wrong. This film stars Scarlett Johansson and its basically limitless trying to be more of an action film with a female lead.
The film revolves around a woman, accidentally caught in a dark deal, turns the tables on her captors and transforms into a merciless warrior evolved beyond human logic.
The movie did not achieve its goal, it tries to be fun action film with a unique premise. But the premise is not unique and the film is barely any fun, it has its moments no mind you but I just didn't have much fun with it.
The story is not that interesting, it's basically limitless meets old-boy. We see Lucy trying to kill the people who gave her this drug for being so cruel, and she takes more doses to access 100% of the brains capacity to save the information for a scientist played by Morgan Freeman.
The performances from most of the cast members is just awful, they were all just really boring to listen too. The only worthwhile people in this film are Johansson and Freeman. You know this movie starts off like Old-boy and one of the actors from this film was in the original old-boy.
The direction from Luc Besson is pretty good but as for the writing, now that's a whole different story. The film is poor due to its writing, it's not his best written work but most certainly his worst, or at least I doubt it is.
All the elements of a good film are not present in this picture. Lucy drives to entertain, but left me with boredom but with a little bit of good acting and good directing this film wasn't a complete waste of time. I give Lucy a three out of five.
