Review of Lucy (2014) by Jasmine D — 29 Jun 2015
An inventive, if slightly flawed movie that has a fantastic premise that although based on wacky science, and a questionable central idea provides many moments of enjoyment. Scarlett Johansson manages to keep things generally believable for large sections of the film and only eventually relents to Luc Besson's craziness during the last fifteen minutes.
However, much like Nikita, Leeloo and Mathilda, he gives us another strong female character to root for. All in all, an enjoyable picture that doesn't stand up to too much rational thinking.
