I'm surprised that I enjoyed this movie as much as I did. For a chick flick, it isn't too sappy. For a poker movie, the poker isn't too predictable and over acted. It is fun to see so many poker pros mixed in with quality actors at the poker table and there are lots of good supporting performances.
The writers made a good choice to set the movie in 2003, before the poker craze took full effect and would have made this story impossible. The ending, however, is awful and betrays anyone who has ever played poker.
Still the ride there is fairly interesting and very entertaining.
