Review of Lucky You (2007) by Jeremy O — 14 Apr 2010
This had a star studded cast but most were only on for a few short scenes. The story was good - the script seemed disjointed however. For instance, there is ONE great and entertaining scene with Robert Downey Jr but really wasn't necessary to the story at all.
Several scenes like that actually. Even that can be over-looked because Rober Duvall was great in this as the Senior of the father/son story of two gamblers, but Eric Bana in this lead was dull as dishwater and the chemistry between him and Drew Barrymore in the leading lady role wasn't there.
Upsdes to this are there however, with real gamblers in the card scenes the poker games are authenic and very real as compared to other movies revolving around a gambling theme. Over-all though a fair movie at best.
