Review of Lucky Number Slevin (2006) by Patrick F — 26 Jul 2011
Finally saw it. Not bad. Some great dialogue. Although inconsistent, there are a couple of "wish I came up with that" dialogue moments. Comes across sometimes as "smart assy". Trying to be smart just to be smart.
And that's how a lot of these "smart" movies feel like to me, especially that wannabe asshole Guy Ritchie. A few boring casting choices. Story is ok. Performances were good. Lucy Liu looks 30.
I guess it's too cold and morally bankrupt. Jason Smilovic is a good writer. It's just that he's probably an alien zombie or something.
