Review of Lucky Number Slevin (2006) by Tanvir M — 08 Dec 2011
Star studded cast and a rapid fire screenplay (both gun play and dialogue wise) make this an enjoyable viewing for fans of fast paced noir-ish thrillers. Tough guy persona of Bruce Willis is used effectively, while Morgan Freeman plays the role of a ruthless gangster, against type but powerfully, yet again demonstrating what a powerful actor he is.
Ben Kingsleyâ(TM)s bad guy is quite common a role now, but in those days it was quite an innovation. Josh Hartnett holds his own (surprisingly, I thought) against all these veterans and delivers a respectable performance.
Fun viewing after a long day at work.
