Review of Lucky Number Slevin (2006) by Ben F — 13 Jan 2010
During this day and age, it's always fun to see a film like this with such a refreshing plot. Usually we see predictable films pertaining to this type of genre, but in "Lucky Number Slevin", it's originality, along with it's well laid out cast, make it a pretty good flick.
With a movie like this, you can't really go into detail about the plot, because it would spoil the entire movie, but let me just say that this movie has a GREAT plot. It's truly original for this decade, and truly entertaining to watch how and when it progresses. You won't be disappointed here at all believe me.
Now this cast is pretty awesome. We got Ben Kingsley, Bruce Willis, Lucy Liu, Morgan Freeman, Josh Hartnett, and Danny Aiello. Of all of these actors, my least favorite is Hartnett, but he even gave a pretty decent performance in this movie. The one thing that I have to complain about Bruce Willis. I mean, the guy was pretty freakin' emotionless the entire time, but I guess his character was supposed to be like that so it's not like I can really complain about it.
The way this film is edited is also very awesome. I love how when the film is trying to explain things to the audiences, it goes back to key scenes that we really didn't understand before. The way the film did this was very convenient for the audience in my opinion.
So overall, this film is pretty cool. I don't think I'd see it again, but it had a VERY unique plot, and was entertaining from start to finish. "Lucky Number Slevin" and it's originality made this movie what it is.
