Review of Lucky Number Slevin (2006) by Tom T — 26 Feb 2011
Cleverly put together at the end but a lack of characterization and direction in the plot makes Lucky Number Slevin a disappointment. Josh Hartnett plays this down on his luck guy who ends up being in the wrong place at the wrong time, resulting in a mistaken identity with two rival gang bosses.
But the character you see Hartnett play at the start of the film isn't the same character at the end, who turns out to be a skilled hitman in a partnership with Bruce Willis's character known as The Good Cat.
The film has a few good points but they aren't enough to save the Gangster No1 director's (Paul Mcguigan) film from falling through the holes in the story.
