Review of Lucky (2017) by Frank B — 14 Oct 2017
I think that my partner perfectly summed up the feeling we got from the movie when she said that it made her want to spend time with many people that she hadn't seen recently enough. It is a wonderfully human story of aging with toughness, gentleness, humor, and open-eyed realism.
It carries its weight of serious ideas gracefully and unpretentiously, and all the performances are fine, even that of David Lynch in one of his least bizarre roles ever (though his character is still plenty strange).
