Luck By Chance - An honest attempt by debutant director Zoya Akhtar.

It showcases the mean side of the bollywood. The life of struggling and ambitious people who wants to make it big in the bollywood as an actor, and as the name signifies it also shows how luck can play an important part with the talent to achieve your dreams. Its about the journey of Farhan n Konkana who are being shown as struggling actors n who wants to make it big in the film industry. Its about the journey of Farhan's, from rags to riches, and about Konkana coming to the terms of real and mean world of bollywood. Upside of the film is a very good script, competent direction, good camera work n the most important of all is the characterization. Characterization is the backbone of the movie. All the actors have portrayed their character strongly. Three cheers to Zoya for that. To start with Farhan's journey - to make it big in the bollywood, the opportunistic and selfish side of his character is explored in a brilliant way. Farhan has done full justice to his role. So is Konkana. No doubt that she is an amazing actress, and while portraying an ambitious girl, who later on comes to the terms with the real and mean side of the bollywood - she has exuded it very well. Hrithik's role is a special appearance in the movie but at the same time its an important character. He has done it with a panache. It was a treat for the eyes to watch him after a very long time on the screen. Other characters by dimple (A diva of yesteryear), Isha Sharavni ( A dumb star kid), Rishi Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Juhi Chawla are all competent enough. Camerawork is brilliant. The filpside of the movie is the music and the editing. Both could have been bette. Movie starts dragging towards the end and its slow pace towards the end definitely is a reason to fade out the impact, the movie creates from begining. Wished the script and editing could have been more tighter till the end of the movie. A good movie but Zoya is not lucky enough to make it an extra ordinary movie. Watch it, you wont repent watching it.
