Review of Lowriders (2017) by Vern C — 12 May 2017
The story was really just scrapping the surface, its kept trying to convey a family story but didn't follow through. The lowrider part seemed more documentary with the narration. I half expected that he would've recreated his faceless street art on the car, as sort of a meaningful completion to his journey.
Opportunity missed. the family dynamics were very weak, not for lack of trying... American Crime made more of a connection with their father son auto shop story. I did like the the father explained the history of the hydraulics to his son.
It could have used more of that type of interaction. Father and son trying to bring each other into their worlds.
