Review of Love's Labour's Lost (2000) by S.m. O — 20 Aug 2010
I loved the concept, turning a Shakespeare romantic comedy into a 1920s musical, but the film doesn't quite come together. Between having the out of place Matthew Lillard and Alicia Silverstone, Branagh directs the film in a manner that feels like a well filmed state production, which I believe was his intention, but it would have worked better if it were filmed more as a cinematic musical.
Good, but it could have been a lot better.
