Review of Love Story 2050 (2008) by Tushad C — 12 Jul 2008
Yes I am going to be harsh!!! This was by far a sad attempt to introduce Sci-Fi to Indian cinema. The question I ask is why is it that why Bollywood Film makers feels that a Hero has to always be over 6 feet, muscle exposed and has to speak in some really fake English accent with some ridiculous fight scenes which was blatantly incorporated from Star Wars, Flash Gordon and Back to the Future.
Why cant you be original or even if you are going to copy, then at least copy on a decent standard. The plot was weak from the start and simply not explained where required, set in 2008 the first half is as regular as any other film - which promos did not make us believe.
The Second half starts well but ends up in a total mess, sorry Harman all you needed to do was not do any dance moves or gestures similar to Hrithik Roshan. Priyanka Chopra does save the film with some decent acting skills but still not good enough for this film only set out to revolve around the hero who has a masters degree in Weapons and fighting skills of 2050.
Boman Irani did his part; the idea of having two child stars in the film was pointless and just to attract a child audience. The sci- fi effects was done well and that why this film gets a star â?? there were points during the film I was simply wishing, that I was watching Shaka Laka Boom Boom insteadâ?¦.
Yes it was that badd!
