It doesn't quite hit all of the marks it wants to be a masterpiece, but "Love, Simon" is one of, if not the best, example of a modern late 2010's high school film. It picks up the torch from past superb high school flicks of decades past and does something a little different.
It has that little inclusion of something special to make it stand apart from the many wannabe high school films that have come out in recent years.
