Review of Love, Simon (2018) by Brandon O — 06 Apr 2018
With an ace script, performances, and handling of subject matter Love, Simon is a consistently engaging and valuable addition to the coming-of-age playlist. Moreover, everything from the family and friend to the school dynamics flows pretty organically, and there is plenty of humanity and humor to complement the affecting narrative. The film at times comes off as a bit safe (in regards to the story and the filmmaking itself) but it does what it sets out to do effectively, and the result is definitely of import/worth spending your money on.
A few more musical numbers would?ve been nice, too.
