Review of Love, Rosie (2014) by Ericka R — 05 Dec 2015
WHAT I LIKED: One of the most honest and beautiful love stories on the big screen, 'Love Rosie' succeeds in building two characters with a real chemistry. The plot also lends itself to the beauty of the love story, as does the sparkle of the leads who depict every turn of the story magically and with true conviction. It deals with some serious themes too and will give audiences a rom-com without the cheesy chick-flick style of most modern alternatives.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: The pacing is very odd. It starts slow, then big events happen in sequence really fast and bizzarely. The structure with the flashbacka etc is interesting, but the lack of finesse in the overall pacing of the film is it's only real flaw.
VERDICT: One of the best romantic comedies ever. It's the lead's chemistry that flows here - just not the pacing.
