Compromised married couple Helen Mirren and Joe Pesci struggle through the brothel business and the boxing business in this solid retro drama, but the obvious "violent chain of events" seems unnecessary and it could have benifited from a lighter, friendlier tone.
Joe Pesci is Joe Pesci--angry and cussing, but it's Helen Mirren's movie and her relationship with Sergio Peris-Mencheta is kinda adorable. Not necessarily a must-see, but it's worth your attention.
