Review of Love on a Leash (2011) by Liam E — 22 Feb 2018
This film is both sophisticated and subtle in its beauty with both its visuals and sound design matching (or even surpassing) Dario Argento's 'Suspiria' and with performances that can only be matched by Leonardo Di Caprio in 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape'.
The film's visual effects are exceptional and are quite possibly better than Stanley Kubrick's 1968 masterpiece, '2001: A Space Odyssey'. It is flawless. To truly understand how great of a film this is, one must think of films that have the best: screenplay, acting (both lead and support), cinematography, visual effects, sound design, original music composition, directing, editing, costuming, etc.
and then fuse them all into one single movie, then you have Love on a Leash. Its truly a shame that the Academy overlooked this masterpiece but I'm sure this film will develop a strong cult following.
5/5.
