I watched this movie after seeing the revival of the show on Broadway- the most recent one starring Oliver Platt and Lauren Graham. By comparison I was disappointed with the movie, but that doesn't mean I disliked it.
It's just a show that's better appreciated onstage. This is a great film if you like musicals, though.
