This movie reminds me a little of Amelie (in terms of special effect). The director did a wonderful job capturing every aspect of the film. I felt a strong connection with the characters. That made me root for them so much that I was slightly disappointed by the ending.
Guess I would just have to repick (redefine) my own version of the ending.
