Review of Love Liza (2002) by Randi P — 06 Jul 2007
A bleak yet beautiful tale with genuine and believable characters, which brings humour from the most unlikely places. I think this is Philip Seymour Hoffman's first leading role, and his talent to transform completely into a character is demonstrated more aptly here than anything else I've seen.
With great support from Kathy Bates, the simple story is an almost irrelevant backdrop to the masterclass in acting this character study presents. Brilliant.
