Review of Love Liza (2002) by Tess A — 18 May 2008
Kathy Bates when she was good! Philip Seymour Hoffman when he was brillian...no, wait; he's always top notch. This movie is perfectly paced, capturing the drone and twisted abusive relationship that comes with finding solace from one's pain in any addictive substance.
Depressing, extremely believable , and not outdone with some little "indie soundtrack", this is at heart an exceptional study of a broken heart.
