Review of Love Liza (2002) by Falice C — 10 Mar 2010
I'm a little torn by this film. I liked it... in the whole "I liked watching Leaving Las Vegas" kind of way... but I didn't feel like Philip Seymour Hoffman's great performance as a truly pathetic individual could make up for the indi-film cliches of open endedness and unexplained events. So yes, it was good... but it still had a ways to go before being anything great.
However, if you're a P.S.H. fan, like myself, you should certainly watch it. He really does give a great - although depressing - performance.
