Review of Love, Kennedy (2017) by Karen N — 25 Jul 2017
I went to see this film primarily out of respect for the family depicted in the film, and especially their extended family, as Kennedy's grandparents have been long-time friends...and I actually babysat for her two oldest Hansen uncles when they were young children.
I never personally knew the Jason and Heather Hansen family, except through the updates received from their parents. I expected to like the movie and appreciate it, but I didn't expect to really enjoy it and be moved both to laughter and tears.
I love movies that make me feel. And though the movie is about a sad illness that made an earthly life shorter than one would hope, it is also very uplifting and rewarding to see. And it was special to watch through the ending credits, as there are clips of the real-life family in the end, as well.
I would strongly encourage anyone who has a opportunity to see this film in the theatre to please do so. And one might also eventually consider having this film in their home library for sharing with family and friends.
..and consider it as a gift. (At least I hope and assume it will come out on DVD and/or for streaming.
