Review of Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing (1955) by Veronique K — 14 Feb 2009
Okay but predictable romantic set in Hong Kong starring Jennifer Jones as a Eurasian doctor (we know this because it's mentioned every five minutes) who falls in love with American William Holden. The typical cliches take place, but at least it's nice to look at with a good score and sets and costumes.
Jones and Holden are good together, but I don't know, I guess the "racism" throughout just seemed tagged on and didn't really need to be there. Plus all of the foreshadowing was just way too obvious.
But whatever, it's not too bad.
