Review of Love Happens (2009) by Roxanne R — 28 Feb 2010
Wonderful and uplifting motion picture! Directed by Brandon Camp, this is the story about Dr. Burke Ryan (played by Eckhart) who after his wife's death decides to become a self-help guru/author. He travels nationwide to give seminars on how to cope with grief after the loss of a loved one.
He arrives in Seattle to teach a sold-out seminar and unexpectedly meets a florist named Eloise (played by Aniston) who has nothing in common with him- they are like diametrically opposed! Ironically it turns out that Eloise may the one person who might be able to help him help himself.
In front of the world Dr. Ryan seems he has it together, and able to deal with the loss of his wife but its all a facade. He is a very lonely soul, missing his dead wife and blaming himself after so many years for her death.
Can two people who may have met the right person at the most unexpected of circusmtances be able to give love a chance? You will have to watch the movie but its so romantic, its funny, charming, witty, so real, and very believable! Just two human beings that fate brought together and one is trying to help the other despite him being so stubborn! Wow it goes to show that when you least expect it, love happens! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
