Review of Love Happens (2009) by Gii B — 28 Feb 2010
This was a strange little film. Not really a rom-com as I expected but a rather awkward, gloomy and sometimes depressing film. I had no problems with the two leads - they both did a fine job. Eckhart plays Burke, a man trying to come to terms with his wifeâ??s death, who happens to write a best selling book on how to cope with life after death and travels across the country to give seminars to groups of people coping with loss.
Its on one of his trips he meets Eloise (Aniston) and from there the awkward and strained relationship begins. Its not a terrible movie - its got a few nice moments but I doubt Iâ??ll be wanting to watch it again anytime soon - probably when I forget what it was about then Iâ??ll stick it on.
Had to watch a comedy straight after it to lift me up. Again not bad acting just an unexpected semi-depressing story.
