Review of Love Happens (2009) by Dave M — 06 Mar 2010
Ah, finally - a real trash heap of a romance. Aaron Eckhart and Jennifer Aniston might as well have been speaking different languages, because they didn't connect at all. She could have stayed home anyway.
The movie would have been exactly the same without her, as it turns out - it's his vehicle of redemption and acceptance all along. Same thing goes for Martin Sheen, who had nothing to do except yell and cry at various intervals.
We're basically treated to our main character helping people without helping himself, having a breakthrough during a wretched climax, and coming out a better man. Boy, was that worth my time. I really liked the soundtrack for some reason, and the parrot was funny.
Yes, the parrot. The rest sucked.
