Review of Love Happens (2009) by Kam K — 10 Mar 2010
Love Happens is a film about a "self-help" guru, Burke Ryan, who helps people deal with their grief due to the loss of loved ones. The problem is, Burke, is a widower who hasn't dealt with his own grief.
With a plot like that, I expected to at least feel some sadness for the characters, even if I didn't like the movie. This film doesn't do a good job with character development, I had no real sympathy or even interest in anyone.
While the characters are talking about the deaths of loved ones, I was think "When will this be over?" The acting by the lead cast, Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart, is FAR from being "awful", but it's not too close to "great" either.
This film is clichéd, predictable, and has plenty of pointless scenes. This isn't a horrible movie, it's worth a watch if you like this genre of film, but I suggest you just skip it.
